Life is going well for Derya and Aziz, an artist couple in Turkey, until everything changes following an incident at the premiere of a theatre production. When both receive the so-called “yellow letters”, state-issued notices that abruptly end their careers, they are forced to leave behind the life they have built and seek refuge in Istanbul. Under mounting political and personal pressure, their marriage is put to the test as they struggle to reconcile their ideals with the need to survive.
