After a break from her music career, during which she explored new paths in communication and acting, Raquel Tavares is back and currently preparing a new album, returning to what has always been her greatest passion: fado.
Singing since the age of seven, Raquel released her self-titled debut album in 2006, earning the Amália Rodrigues Award for Female Newcomer of the Year. Two years later, she released Bairro (2008), a work that received widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences.
In 2016, she released Raquel, featuring the hit song Meu Amor de Longe, which has amassed more than 14 million views on YouTube. The following year, she unveiled Roberto Carlos por Raquel Tavares, an album that achieved Platinum status within just a few months and earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Performer in 2017.
In 2023, her longing for the stage proved impossible to resist, and she accepted an invitation from the prestigious International Fado Festival, where she had previously performed alongside renowned artists such as Carlos do Carmo, Camané, and others. She appeared in Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville.
Last year, she returned to a full concert schedule and, in addition to performing throughout Portugal, Raquel Tavares toured across Latin America.
