The artistic projects Poetas Cantados and G.I.G.G.Y. were invited to create a show that reflects our closeness to the sea while also embodying the idea of fluid music and sounds, like the tides.
Between tides and chords reflects the identity of the city and the diversity of music 'made in Tavira', promoting the local music scene. It is more than a show; it is a celebration of local culture and a platform for opportunities for emerging artists from our municipality. The opportunity to showcase their work creates deeper connections between musicians and the community, reinforcing the identity and cultural richness that defines our city.
Groove Is Gonna Get You (G.I.G.G.Y.), formed in 2011, blends influences of soul, funk and reggae to create a vibrant and contagious sound. With songs in Portuguese and English, the band conveys energy and joy, inviting the audience to dance. The current lineup includes Rita Gonçalves (vocals), André Bagarrão (guitar/vocals), Rui Vale (bass/choir), Daniel Bagarrão (drums), Rodrigo Bagarrão (alto saxophone), Maurício Gonçalves (trumpet) and Sandra Martins (tenor saxophone).
Poetas Cantados is a project that brings together singer Ana Pi and musician Stelmo Barbosa, accompanied by guests, in a show that celebrates poetry through music. The repertoire features interpretations of poems by great names in Portuguese literature, revealing the strength and beauty of the sung word.
