Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their distant father, the charismatic Gustav, a once-renowned director who offers Nora, a theatre actress, a role in what he hopes will be his triumphant comeback film. When Nora declines, she soon discovers he has given the part to a young and ambitious Hollywood star. Suddenly, the two sisters have to deal with a complicated relationship with their father and the arrival of an American star in the midst of complex family dynamics.
