Four girls (Alma, Erika, Angelika and Lenka) spend their youth on a remote farm in northern Germany, in different periods of time — yet they are connected by secrets and traumas that span generations. As the house evolves over the course of a century, echoes of the past linger in its walls and in the lives that unfold there. Gradually, events and repressed desires begin to mirror one another, revealing the truth hidden behind time and silence.
